May 9th, 2010 “Frozen Creek” cover

We’ve been heavily spinning the new Circa Survive album Blue Sky Noise lately (and really, who hasn’t?). Check out our cover of “Frozen Creek”!

February 25th, 2010 Things have been swill

We’ve recently had the pleasure of recording The Swill Merchants, our new best friends from Staten Island, NY. They’ve been tracking a four-song EP this week in our homey Newton studio and things have been going…. well, you know…

Seriously, though: the guys have done a great job documenting their whole recording process, so be sure to check out their YouTube channel for a ton of studio vids (ok, maybe some more shenanigans too), plus keep it locked on their MySpace for more soon!

January 7th, 2009 Annnnnd, we’re back!

Apologies for the few days of down time, folks — had a bit of server trouble over the holidays, but we’re back in action. Perhaps now would be a good time to formally introduce ourselves, instead of leading you on with cryptic (and often silly) sound bites and video clips.

We are The Art of Attraction, a band of four members and friends — Kevin Colquhoun, Kyle Sutton, Austin Gabrielli and Chris Johnson — formerly of New Jersey but now based full-time in Boston. For the last two years, we’ve been hard at work on our debut album, A Gentleman’s Agreement, which has seen its way from early conception to its near completion now in 2009. As the weeks go on and we continue adding the final touches to our baby, we’ll keep you updated the best way we know how. Song teasers. Spoof videos. And the occasional poignant entry. We hope you’ll play along.

And with that, here’s a rare and insightful look into the arduous process of recording yells:

And now you know.
