Turning Tide Design just recently launched The Wrecking Coast’s new myspace layout 2 weeks ago. The page has been up and running, in tandem with the band’s recent EP release – The Worst Is Over. Take a second to swing by www.myspace.com/thewreckingcoast to view the page and the music. They’re a post-hardcore band located out of Boston, MA. Turning Tide Design did the photography, graphic design and coding for the layout. Enjoy!

We haven’t posted in a while, so I feel like it’s a good time to update any and all of you who frequent our page on our current agenda and that of the near future. We’ve been playing out as frequently as possible in and around Boston, with a few interspersed shows in NJ and some coming up in NH. We’re so excited to be venturing around sharing our sound with people, and the response we have received has been really inspiring. I’ve never really known what it is to have legitimate fans. Sure, I’ve encountered my fair share of admirers…but not for the music…more for superficial reasons, be it physical attraction, a desire to be involved with something in the music scene…I’m not really sure of all the reasons, but what I do know is that now we’re beginning to stumble upon unfamiliar scenery…people who finally connect with our music and aren’t too introverted to speak with us about it. We may not sell out shows…not yet, at least. But, we have consistently found ourselves speaking in depth with people after shows about our live set and it’s so incredible to meet new people and share an interest in both music and the concepts we attempt to convey. So, to anyone and everyone that I have had the pleasure and blessing to meet and speak with, thank you incredibly for your company and feedback. It falls on grateful and open ears.

We, as a band, have agreed to move home to New Jersey at the end of June, after Kyle and I graduate. It’s a bit of a bittersweet thing. I am excited to move home. I’m ready to leave the scenery of the city for something more quaint…more reclusive. I’m not sure exactly what everyone’s opinions are on the move, but it certainly will aid us in touring more rigorously over the summer and following seasons! I’m sad to leave the family that I’ve been accepted into at my work, and to leave my recently acquired friends, but I think that heading back to New Jersey will be the start of a new phase for us – something great.

We have been working on a lot of new material – all of which I am entirely ecstatic to get to work on with the boys and eventually record and share with you. We’re still trying to map it all out and build something to our liking and standards, but there are more than 30 tracks in the making and it’s a bit overwhelming at the moment, in a great way.

If you haven’t seen, our good friend, Alex Laferriere, recorded our live show at Harper’s Ferry, and the footage came out awesome. Check it out here.

We have some really cool photo shoots coming up that I will be shooting myself – some cool concepts that I’m excited to experiment with and I hope you will all find unique and cohesive with our design.

Kyle and I are working on an upstart. A Visual Design Firm, TheTideWillTurn, and will be offering a variety of services to up and coming artists. I’ll be shooting hi-res digital photography for artists looking to augment their visual appearance and presentation for album artwork, press-photos, web design – anything you could use imaging for. Kyle has been working pretty hard with some clients as a Web-Designer and his portfolio is pretty ballin. If you weren’t aware, Kyle is responsible for the design and maintenance of TheTideWillTurn.com We are also going to be offering services in the fields of Booking, Promotion and Publishing. For those of you unaware, we already run a company, Swallow The Earth, Publishing. It is our hope that we will be able to use our skills and experience to aid other bands and artists who are seeking to elevate themselves from the mob of today’s scene. If you or anyone you know is in need of any of these services, contact us through here. We can be reached easily via TAOA@TheTideWillTurn.com or individually via Kevin@TheTideWillTurn.com / Kyle@TheTideWillTurn.com Don’t hesitate to get a hold of us with a concept or design you already have perfected, or to discuss a project you’d like to propose. We are really easy to work with and will do anything and everything we can to make your project meet your expectations and your budget. After all, it’s your project, and far too frequently in our industry, designers are taking too many liberties and unprofessionally looking condescendingly on bands and artists. We realize that you take pride in who you are and what you do, and every aspect of your repertoire should convey that. We’re here for you.

We did a mock purchase earlier, and with first-class USPS shipping to MA, the total was only $10.80 — cheaper than if you bought it from our Big Cartel! While buying the album at a show is still the best way (price-wise, and hey, we get to meet ya!), this is definitely a sale worth taking up!
